The majority of my career has been spent working in consultancy interpreting briefs set by others. Whilst still accepting a limited number of private commissions, I am now concentrating primarily on my own designs applying my knowledge and skills to developing products I have long wished to produce.

A designer with 30+years International experience; having undertaken commissions in the UK, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia and the USA. Commissions have varied considerably and have included building design, interior projects, furniture and a wide range of products.

I have designed using a great number of different materials, utilising traditional and contemporary processes for both interiors and products. Personal craft skills include; Ceramics, Gilding, Painting, Furniture Making, Photography and photo-imaging, Printing, Marquetry, Sculpture and 3D constructions.

furniture

I have been designing and developing furniture for the past 30 years. Designing successful mainline office furniture systems, seating, cabinet work and individual pieces etc. working with many materials and manufacturing processes. Ranges have varied in style and volume of production. My interests are now primarily in sculptural and decorative forms, function and economics being less dominant.

Illustrated are recent and current work, future work will continue to concentrate on style and form rather than commercial production.
 

Featuring both functional and decorative products this section will concentrate mainly on small items with a practical emphasis. Products will primarily be for interiors and will include bowls, vases, plates, lamps and domestic ‘tabletop’ ware. Materials and processes will reflect my experience and interest in ceramics, metals, wood and plastics.

Featuring projects both current and past that have involved more than one element or design discipline, projects such as buildings, interiors, technical equipment and bespoke products. My experience in design and project management together with considerable technical knowledge enables me to offer a comprehensive service to my clients in many aspects of design.

commissioning

With considerable experience in undertaking design commissions I am interested in the challenge of a variety of design projects. I have a very broad knowledge of the practical processes involved in fulfilling a design commission, be it a single piece for a private home or a complex commercial interior or product requiring both decorative and functional elements.

Some of these are featured in more detail and can be viewed under individual section headings. The folio will be updated regularly and show work currently in development as well as finished pieces.
