lee art
My interest is in all forms of the visual arts, I
do not specialize in any one medium or style. I am more concerned
with the emotions and ideas that I am trying to express, rather than
the particular medium or style that I use to translate it into
physical form. I am inspired by many materials and processes and am
keen to explore how they each contribute to and influence the final
outcome of any piece I create.
Most of my career has been spent working in
consultancy interpreting briefs set by others. I am now
concentrating on my own work and applying my knowledge and skills to
developing themes I have long wished to explore.
Initially the portfolio will be dominated by
transitional work and experimentation developing many forms and
subjects, working from a vast inspirational store of images and
ideas collected over many years.
I hope you will enjoy the work as it develops and return to the
site occasionally to see what’s new.

images
I am working on a diverse range of
images in a variety of mediums directly related to the work
currently being developed in sculptural forms. This together with
continuing work on plant life images will form the bulk of my work
this year on images. Further development of the use of marquetry and
other methods of constructing the surface image will be explored
in addition to the development of digital images.

objects
Whilst defining an ‘object’ as a three
dimensional form devised with function in mind the emphasis is on
decorative and aesthetic form rather than the functional
practicality of product design. ‘Objects’ will continue to explore
the innovative use of materials found in the marquetry vases, and
further development of these together with a range of bowls and
platters is planned.

sculpture
Much of my work to date has been primarily in the
form of constructions using mainly found materials. I am now
concentrating more on abstract forms using metals, plastics and
wood. Currently working on a range of ‘landforms’ that explore the
fragility of our landscape and natures ultimate dominance over Mans’
attempts at physical change.

commissioning
With considerable experience in undertaking
design commissions I am now seeking to develop my work more directly
related to Art commissions. I have a very broad knowledge of the
practical processes involved in fulfilling a creative commission, be
it a single piece for a private home or a complex commercial
interior requiring both decorative and functional elements.
